DCHA's Section 8 waiting list is currently closed. At this time, there is no estimated date for the list to reopen. ​Information on DCHA's waiting lists and any current or upcoming openings may be found here.

If you were placed on the waiting list following the S8 HCV & PBV waitlist openings in August of 2023, you may log in to or create an account in DCHA's Applicant Portal website by clicking here. The Applicant Portal can be used to check your application or make changes (attachments or documents cannot be submitted at this time via the applicant portal site).

DCHA will only contact applicants by mail, so please ensure that DCHA always has an up-to-date mailing address for you. If any mail sent to you by DCHA is returned as undeliverable or we never receive a response, you will be removed from the waiting list.
Upcoming Waiting List Opening for
Public Housing in Stoughton, WI!
The waiting list for Public Housing in Dane County (Stoughton only) for 1 & 2 bedroom units
will be open from 8:00A.M. - 12:00P.M. on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025.
Applications received during this time will be used to fill upcoming vacancies.
To qualify for a 1 bedroom unit, you must have a household size of 1-2.
To qualify for a 2 bedroom unit, you must have a household size of 2-4.
Rent is based on 30% of your gross income.
Please visit Wisconsin Management Company at 4801 Tradewinds Parkway, Madison, WI 53718 to fill out an application during the listed time, or call Wisconsin Management Company at 608-575-4130 with any questions.
Wisconsin Management Company will accept applications received in person, by mail, via email or fax, as long as they are received during the opening window of 8AM - 12PM on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025.

DCHA's offices are located at 2917 International Lane #201, Madison, WI 53704. We are on the second floor, at the end of the hall to your immediate left when exiting the elevator. The main doors of the building are open 7AM - 6PM.

If you would like to drop off paperwork at our offices, you can feel free to leave it in the locked dropbox in the hallway outside of our office door. It is checked at least once daily on business days by DCHA staff.

Open waiting list for one-bedroom units for disabled & elderly (62+) applicants.
Affordable 1-bedroom apartments open to applicants who are disabled or elderly (62 years of age or older) in Cross Plains. Units may have rental assistance available, meaning you could pay only 30% of your adjusted household income towards rent.

Carbon Monoxide Detector/Alarm Requirement
Please note that, as per HUD regulations effective 12/27/2022 (see PIH Notice 2022-01), the owners/landlords of all properties that receive federal rental assistance (such as Section 8) are required to provide a functioning carbon monoxide alarm/detector.
